I became interested in massage therapy while working as a fitness instructor with the (AFAA) American Fitness Association of America. In 1997, I attended "Blue Cliff College," completing a 1,000 hours curriculum that included Craniosacral, Neuromuscular therapy, and Sports massage. After graduating, I started my practice and became a member of The American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and The National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB).
I have had a successful practice for many years now, I've expanded into corporate events. I have also worked with several acupuncturists and chiropractors in the area. My work is based on a combination of eastern and western modalities that are proven to promote good health and well being. I have a diverse clientele, from seniors citizens to football players and other professionals. I am very appreciative of their support and loyalty.
During my travels throughout Asia, I developed a great interest in the Asian outlook of health, body, and mind balance. I decided to expand my knowledge in this fascinating field. At the beginning of 2000, I attended the International Training Massage Institute (ITM) in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where I completed a curriculum in Nuad Bo-Barn Thai massage level I and II.
Several years later, I traveled to China, where I attended The China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine and The Massage Hospital in Beijing. I also took several courses in principles of acupuncture, Moxibustion, and Tuina at the China Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center. It was an incredible experience! I have completed a curriculum in Polarity balance at the Polarity Balancing Center in Boulder, Colorado. I have also attended numerous workshops and seminars around the country. In 2008 I attended HCH Institute for hypnotherapy and psycho-spiritual training in Lafayette, California, where I became a certified clinical hypnotherapist. A few years later, I attended NLP Marin to become an NLP practitioner following by NLPCA, where I graduated as an NLP Master Practitioner in 2013. I love my work! It is gratifying to me to feel the appreciation of my clients and to know that I can make a little difference in people's lives. -Sandra
